I have been a huge Jimmy Fan for a long time, and as much as I appreciated a new album from them and would probably say it is one of the better albums out there, it is definetly a step down rather than a step up for them. This album has a shallow feel that doesn’t capture the heart that any of their previous records did. It is an attempt at a heavily commercial sound that makes them unfortunately sound like aging rockers. The true genius of Jimmy Eat World I believe lies in the album Clarity. As much as I appreciate the positive reviews for J.E.W. albums I think this album was a step in the wrong direction and i hope they can return to a more real and heartful sound for the next

Amen to that! I think that Futures had that solid feeling as well. Each Album had it’s own genre from the band. For instance, Bleed American had that Pop-Rock feeling to it. Clarity has the new car smell to it, except the song “Goodbye Sky Harbour” which is awesome on a new degree. Futures is more of a ” Heartfelt/ sota emo…” Futures is it’s own beast though. All of the songs on this current album are great, nevertheless to say about the bonus songs on it!
