Listen to the whole ‘Once‘ soundtrack, and check out the movie if you haven’t. Great independent movie about a singer/songwriter.

Here is an artist for those of you interested in finding out about people before they get off the ground. Nick Baumgart plays acoustic/folk/pop music that has a lot of potential.

This is likely to be a contender for one of the best indie rock records in 2008. The songs fill a spectrum of different styles while all fitting nicely together on a single album.

Stellar Kart has always been right on the verge of making a name for themselves and although better than the previous album, the new record “Expect The Impossible” leaves them about where they started.

Usually as 2007 whines down the music releases it takes a month or two for them to whined back up again with the end of February really kicking off the musical year. 2008 looks to switch it the norm a bit with Number One Gun releasing an album in the middle of January Jet Lag [...]

While the pop-punk band refuses to give up on their trademark sound, the record is actually better than the last album and a guilty pleasure good time.

From a small, unknown band comes a fantastic release that most likely will go unnoticed. The band has a relaxed indie style that combines acoustic with electric instrumentation to make up a beautiful musical foundation.

The album is overall slightly more upbeat than Matt’s last album although the acoustic style remains the same. This record should do well a lot of people and gain more fame for the singer/songwriter. While I do enjoy the album I’m still not sure how much play time this record will be getting when every [...]

I just listened through Moses Mayfield’s newest record and it is amazing. This is an album that took awhile for me to fully love but I am a huge fan. Give the rock band a chance and leave your thoughts in the comments.

Hopefully the band’s live show is better than the album because it’s one of the worst I’ve heard this year. The song structure is lousy, the sound quality terrible, among other things.
This is a skip it album for sure.

…For music releases to be slow. As the year whines down so does the music releases and album reviews. There still should be one or two reviews coming out before the end of the year (if not more) but 2008 should have a lot of good things in store. This lull is always tough [...]

Catchy female fronted fun dance-rock music. The record is an upbeat, good time that is a mix of the Ramones, and The Donnas. This is definitely a record that people should be checking out because it’s surprisingly really good.

Hawaiian Pop-punk Band Olivia is back with their sophomore album, “Where We Come From It Never Snows”. Most likely you haven’t heard of the band and so this will be your first taste of them which is good because this album is leaps ahead of the debut record.
