Hawk Nelson has been around long enough to gain that name recognition which important for the causal music consumer. The question now becomes whether the band ignites the excitement they once did or maybe for you an excitement they never did before.

Today is literally an extra day of your life, what better thing to do than check out new music?
We The Living is a swirl of The Fray, Augustana, Lifehouse and several other bands. I immediately fell in love with the band’s music from their new record ‘Heights Of The Heaven’.

I got an email today letting me know about the band Shapes Stars Make’s new album. It was weird how much the band feels like and reminds me of The Appleseed Cast. The vocals are not the same and there are definietley differences but the similarities are there.

Tooth and Nail Records has a certain style of band that they sign and Search The City falls into that category but there is something interesting about the band. What do you think?

If The Postal Service and Hellogoodbye were musical parents, the strange kid they would come home with would be Playradioplay!. More specifically ‘Texas’ is the album that would be made if those two act ever collaborated.
The record is mellow and electronic with mood swings that put in into other leagues completely without ever straying [...]

The album is part rock n roll anthems, mixed with part underground indie inspired songs. The combination is a bit hard to fit in a genre box but very easy for your ears to understand. The album is definitely worth looking into.

Members of defunct bands Acceptance and Gatsby’s American Dream make up Search/Rescue. ‘The Compound’ is an offering of songs that you would expect members of those two bands to produce when mixed together. Soaring choruses and melodic, soothing verses are a dime a dozen on the record.

You know when you flip on the radio on and hear a song that you haven’t heard before but you catch on pretty quickly and by the time the song ends you’ve decided that you liked it and want to know who it was? Relatively unknown rock band from southern California, This Holiday Life, is [...]

The band has solid vocals combined with a strong, developed musical style. I was hooked within the first minute of the record and it was able keep my attention through the entire thing. Bottom line, this is a band and album you should seek out.

The Working Title absolutely showed what they had to offer when they released ‘Everyone Here Is Wrong’ which is a must own for anyone interested in the bands style. ‘About Face’ which was their full length major label release wasn’t really promoted like it should have been and went unnoticed although it was a huge [...]

Check out the band list again on the SXSW site as they have no added about 3.5GB worth music downloads from artists appearing at the festival.
Artists with the little cassette next to their name have music for download and streaming. Enjoy.

The Afters first record ‘I Wish We All Could Win’ had a sound and image that seemed to scream “We’re like Switchfoot”. While I still think there are a lot similarities between the two bands, ‘Never Going Back To OK’ shows that the band is focusing, and not redefining themselves, but simply clarifying who they [...]

The indie rock style of the album is the musical equivalent to laying in the sun during the summer letting memories just come to you. ‘Act Natural’ resists the urge to be the next radio star and digs a little deeper into more interesting melodies and arrangements.

Matt Wertz has signed a record deal with Universal Records and will be coming out with a new record sometime around May.
The upside? There will be a new Matt Wertz record that you can find in pretty much any music store.
The Downside? There will only be 3 new songs on it, which will be combined [...]
