Full Review: Run Kid Run - Love At The Core

If something’s not broken, why do you need to fix it? Run Kid Run knows that they excel at the traditional pop punk style and thus they didn’t add anything gimmicky to their solid act.

Full Review: Trevor Hall - The Elephants Door

Trevor Hall may be an unfamiliar name for you now but the very strong and solid album, ‘The Elephants Door’ should change that. Hall may be only in his early 20’s but he has a voice and presence as if he’s been putting out records for decades.

Daily Rec: 4/29

It boggles my mind that a band so rich in melodies and over flowing with talent like Northern Room hasn’t been signed yet. Any labels that are reading, this is the band to grab.
For fans of: Mute Math
Song to start with: We’re On Fire, (seriously any of them)

Myspace Goes Karaoke

If you weren’t happy enough using myspace to receive spam from total strangers you can now use the service to sing karaoke.
Obviously we’re only slightly joking and Myspace is useful for artists to have a place to stream their music but seriously, karaoke? I thought YouTube was for that.

Full Review: The Cab - Whisper War

Despite being a fairly new band, The Cab has been able to generate a lot of buzz and anticipation for their debut ‘Whisper War’. The question (cliche-ly asked) is not whether the band will make a big splash with this release, the question is how big?

Daily Rec: 4/28

Today’s rec is for those that need a little punk/pop/rock every once in awhile. Run Kid Run used to be Side Walk Slam who was pretty much the stereo typical 2 minute punk song from the mid to late 90’s. Run Kid Run has greatly expanded but still holds a tad of familiarity to the [...]

1 Liner: Your Vegas - A Town And Two Cities

Straight forward rock ‘n roll with an added synth pretty makes up the music of ‘A Town And Two Cities’. Your Vegas may not sound very special but the album just has the right mix of everything including melodies that sratch an itch. This record is for fans of both The Killers and Starsailor.

1 Liner: Paul Wright - Diego’s Diary

Paul Wright is a solo artist dealing mosting in the acoustic/surf music, much like Jack Johnson. The latest release, ‘Diego’s Diary’ documents different locations all over the city of San Diego. The songs are a lot rougher than previous records but Wright has an undeniable talent that comes through in all the his songs.

1 Liner: Run Kid Run - Love At The Core

Run Kid Run is still rocking the older pop punk style which others abandoned years ago. ‘Love At The Core’ may not break any molds but that doesn’t matter because the album is nearly flawless at what it does do.

Moving Mountains hasn’t gotten enough coverage for their record, ’Pneuma’. The band has moments of heavy rock music and others of intimate and ambient sounds. It’s more of an experience than a normal CD.

1 Liner: The Cab - Whisper War

When it comes to The Cab there has been a lot of hype, expectations, and opinions made based of the label and bands they’re associated with. The album, while not a long distance runner, can definitely stand on its own.

1 Liner: Five Times August - Brighter Side

Brad Skistimas, who is Five Times August, has a similar style to other solo artists such as Matt Wertz or Jason Mraz. The mostly acoustic record is nothing new but is done in an fresh and honest way . The song, “The Good Life” will probably be the face of the record for a lot [...]

1 Liner: The Weepies - Hideaway

I’ll admit that the indie pop thing has become a spectacle of sorts but The Weepies are the real deal. Husband and wife, Steve and Deb have bested their previous album with more and longer lasting hooks as well as cleverly crafted melodies.
