Once head deep in the ’straight forward’ punk genre, Damiera now has all the makings of borrowing fans from other similar bands such as The Mars Volta.
Any of you interested in artists such as Colbie Caillat, Sara Bareilles, or even Feist really need to give Stacy Clark a listen. I can definitely see her current album ‘Apples And Oranges’ being re-released by a major label and blowing up big time.
For some indie cred, Aaron Marsh of Copeland does sing on the [...]
Do you prefer for band’s to post videos and updates from the recording studio or would you rather just be surprised when the album comes out?
After randomly coming across the Pop/rock band TV/TV I fell in love with the catchy and slightly unique style the band has. This band will blow up given the chance.
Song to start with: Indie Rock Girl
Capital Lights may be a somewhat predictable pop/rock band but based on the 2 new songs from their yet to be released album ‘This Is An Outrage’ I’m wondering if the band doesn’t have a secret sauce they dip their otherwise traditional songs in, making them infectious.
All I’m really trying to say is that you [...]
Here are the different versions of the album that will be floating around. Although there has been a bit of criticism for the band’s cover of “The Weight”, it’s different for the band and a great bonus track.

* “Pig” 4:02
* “The Spider” - 4:43

For those not paying attention or not taking the earlier post seriously, you need to check out Above The Golden State. The band has a relaxed and mellow California rock style which is instantly attractive.
Punk band, Damiera have matured and expanded their sound to transcend the “punk” genre while not really leaving their former style. ‘Quiet Mouth Loud Hands’ is such a step forward for the band as well as the scene they contribute to.

Stop what you’re doing and give Above The Golden State a listen. Awesome Music.
The new Tooth And Nail records podcast is now available with new music from The Classic Crime, Corey Crowder, Underoath, and Capital Lights. The podcast also features brand new band, The Becoming.
The new Capital Lights is shaping up to be very attractive, I highly recommend checking out the new songs on the podcast.

There are so many ways to lead off a review of the new Weezer album that it’s hard to choose between talking about the fact that this is the 3rd self titled album in a different color or how musically the band has changed again to mix the old with the new.
So apparently summer does not start until June 10th even though it supposed to start on May 27th. Jon Foreman’s newest EP ‘Summer’ has been pushed back until June 10th and will be released digitally on its own as well as physically combined with ‘Spring’.
Update: As of now it looks like the digital version will [...]
The new album from post-hardcore band Alesana is pretty much exactly what you might expect. With no real surprises or anything different from the norm, the album may get pretty bland for some. On the bright side if you’ve liked any of the songs you’ve heard then you will enjoy the entire album.
If you want some music that is different from anything you have on your stereo now then check out The Names That Spell.

We are still working out the kinks for the new layout, any thoughts?
In the mean time, give The Waiting Canvas a listen.
Passion and energy run deep and steadily throughout the entire album. The indie rock style is one of both upbeat night driving songs as well as reflective and somber songs. ‘In Search Of Beginnings’ is an album you should not let go unheard.
We are almost through the worst part of the upgrade. all the old posts should be back now
You know you’ve been doing this awhile when you start running out of colors for your album cover. The red album is interesting, because in some ways it scratches so many of the itches that fans have had but in some ways it just misses the mark. Chances are this will be a hit or [...]
The A-Sides never really got the credit they should have with their release on Vagrant Records. Give them a spin.
Here are some Daytrotter session recordings from the complex indie band The Snake The Cross The Crown. There are 4 songs to stream of download.
The Hold Steady have managed to take a somewhat unpopular and usually underground genre and style into the spotlight which is crowded with one too many smooth singers. ‘Stay Positive’ is a progression for the band and a direction full of potential.
Give Anthem In a listen is smooth an steady indie rock interests you.
The Muxtape site recently had an issue and deleted half of our songs. Let us know which relatively unknown artist/band you’d like to see a song on there from.

Despite some minor flaws, The Mirror Stage has created a very compelling album that dives into a slightly darker indie rock. ‘Ten Thousand Tongues’ uses some light electronic elements to enhance the sound which fits well with the unique fragmented singing style.
The day is not over yet, you still have time to check out Styrofoam
This week The Album Project has recommended the very talented, Telograph. Check out the band and pick up their self titled EP which has some amazing tracks on it, including my favorite, “Beneath Your Feet”.
Even though you still may not recognize the name, The Hold Steady broke out into the mainstream with their last record and ‘Stay Positive’ should do just as well. The very raw indie rock music and vocals which sound inspired by rancid or other early punk have just enough pop in the mix to work [...]
