The new album from post-hardcore band Alesana is pretty much exactly what you might expect. With no real surprises or anything different from the norm, the album may get pretty bland for some. On the bright side if you’ve liked any of the songs you’ve heard then you will enjoy the entire album.

This is one of the Greatest Alesana albums ever! The dynamics are amazing and the music is really tight and on pitch. Whoever says this band is off is gay as ****! They obviously don’t have a lick of ***** musical talent in their body.
solid album doesn’t compare to ‘on frail wings’ which had the amazing greek mythology in the lyrics. i think this album lacked my desired expectations as far as lyrics are concerned and was hoping for a couple of screaming up beat solos
used in such songs as ‘congrats i hate you’ and ‘three last letters’ for those who have listened to ‘on frail wings of vanity and wax’ which i think is in a class of its own is the better of the two albums

I’ve been a musician for about 13 of my 17 years and I’m open to any kind of music.
What this album is is crap.
A big ol’ pile of crap.
Everything is predictable. Lyrically, they’ve always tried too hard. It’s just layers and layers of reused guitar work (that isn’t even good). Vocals are really disappointing. I used to be a Shawn Milke fan. Not after hearing “This is Usually When People Scream” (or something like that). On the first song, he goes and screws up on a note. Come on! Dan’s screams got better, but I think he’s the only one that should scream (Shawn should stop). Piano ballads? Didn’t they understand that they shouldn’t do that?

Drums aren’t special either. But Jeremy has nothing to work with either. The guitars suck and the bass isn’t dominant (in both albums I should add). Steve Tomany was a better bassist than Shane Crump is. Tomany was a high point on the last album because he tried things. This guy doesn’t do a thing. He follows rhythm guitar.
I downloaded the album to check it out before buying because I was planning to get it anyway.
But no, I’m not.
If I do get it, it’s a gag gift for a friend.
I also deleted the downloaded files if you’re concerned at all.
