The song opens with familiar piano and then Andrew’s strained comes over the speakers. “Miss California” is the first (non Youtube) glimpse at the new Jack’s Mannequin record. The song is a b-side from the record, made available instantly for download when you pre-order the new album.

First thoughts? It is exactly what you would expect from Andrew McMahon and sounds just like a summer song should. That fact that this is a b-side hopefully means that the actual album is even better.
