Daily Rec: 6/27 [I'll Build A Rec Edition]
Here is a band some of you may enjoy. Abandon Kansas could fit in on the current Tooth & Nail roster and you wouldn’t blink an eye. I guess ‘rock with some rough edges’ would be the best way to describe the style the band plays and fits in with the likes of the new As Cities Burn, The Almost, Ruth or even Switchfoot. Because the newest record, ‘You Build A Wall, I’ll Build A Ladder’, will be an instant hit among fans of the bands just mentioned I don’t think it will be long before this band catches fire.
There is a lot of potential in these songs but even more so there is a lot of potential in this band and right now I could see them falling towards pressure to conform to the poppy scene. I think it would be a huge mistake to abandon the melodic rock songs which are so pure and inviting.
