Full Review: The Enemy Lovers – Self Titled EP

Even though you probably don’t recognize the name ‘The Enemy Lovers’, the band’s self titled EP is absolutely worth checking out. I realize that I’m not supposed to give away too much in the opening paragraph, but seriously were you going to read on if I didn’t?

It’s not hard to like the 6 songs on this album, what is hard to imagine is how good the album is for such a relatively unknown band. The calibre of the songs reaches something of Augustana’s ‘All the Stars and Boulevards’ with “Feel It” taking the top spot for most unforgettable song.

“Coming Down” and “Circles” both fill the pop/rock spots, doing a decent job of mixing repeatability and catchiness. “Enemies” is the album’s best slow song, while “Scale Your Walls” adds a little more energy and takes on a U2 feel which isn’t really seen anywhere else in the songs, but is really well done.

This record is good, but not perfect. The biggest success for these 5 songs is that I am now pretty excited about the new songs the band will be recording in February.
