1 Liner: Samurai Luncheon – The She EP

If you’re willing to put up with the lower production and recording quality of these 5 songs, you may find something enjoyable. “Sorry, I Apologize Too Much” starts with vocals akin to Mark Hoppus in Blink’s early days, while the other tracks fill in the other areas of high school pop/punk. Potential here? Absolutely. The actual EP? Mediocre.

  2. Alexander Says:

The recording quality on the EP is actually pretty good man. Give a more indepth review.

  3. Mckenzie Says:

**** man, these guys worked their asses off for this EP, don’t just comment on one song, the rest are decent to, they won a radio contest in their area cause of it.

Good grief, do you know how many thousands of bands out there “work their asses off” to record and tour and get their music out there… and how many of them would love to get a review? Be grateful that Tyler took the time to check out the band and post his thoughts, thus exposing their music to a whole new potential audience. That’s more than a lot of bands out there get.

That said, for the most part I agree with his review. Sure the recording quality’s not awful, but it’s not great, and there’s nothing that really jumps out at mean about the songs that makes them stand out from all the other bands that write this style of music.

A word of advice that will help you in dealing with journalists, bloggers, and others who can help you get exposure for a band… Lots of times, if you are polite and professional, they’ll be willing to help you out, but they don’t HAVE to say anything about your band. Be courteous, give them time to check out the music, and then follow up if you don’t hear back. Badgering people, pressuring them, or complaining if you don’t like what they have to say won’t get you anywhere. Maybe next time try “Hey thanks for checking out the CD – we appreciate you taking the time to listen and post your thoughts. If you have a chance, we’d love to see a full review on your site.” Instead of “**** man, these guys worked their asses off for this EP, don’t just comment on one song.” Just a suggestion – take it or leave it.

  5. Tory Says:

yoooo, these guys are sick, I would love to see a full review of their album.

  6. Brown Says:

hey these guys sound pretty good, i think it would be great if they got more coverage, i say full review!

  7. scrofish Says:

This band is sick…they deserve more coverage for sure

  8. Mel Says:

I agree, the band is great and should get a full review.

  9. Brooks Says:

I’m the vocalist/bassist for the band and I just wanted to say thank you for the review. Also thank you for saying that we have potential, that really brightened my day.

  10. Maddy Says:

why isn’t there a full review?!

  11. Tyler [The Album Project] Says:

@brooks With the support/friends you have trying to help the band I see no reason you won’t get the opportunity for people to hear you guys.

As long as things don’t become disrespectful (like a few deleted comments have been) I will do a full review for the EP. Also though to everyone else questioning, I only got the record last night and have not been able to do anything yet. Sit tight
