The Gallery Releasing New Album

Posted on July 4th, 2008 by Tyler, under News.

The Gallery is releasing their debut full length “If You Know What I Mean” on Blue Duck Records on August 12th. Currently they have 3 songs off that album on their Myspace.

I was actually really impressed when I pulled up the band’s Myspace and “Where We Began” came up and started playing. I didn’t even have a chance to question if I liked the music, it just clicked.

The track listing for the album is below.

Best Album Of The Year So Far?

Posted on July 2nd, 2008 by Tyler, under News.

There’s an article on MTV recapping some of the best albums released thus far this year. While The Hold Steady’s album was decent, personally I am still leaning towards The New Frontiers debut ‘Mending’ as the best so far in 2008. Any thoughts?

Hit The Single

Posted on June 25th, 2008 by Tyler, under News.

After changing singers, it’s usually hard for a band to keep fans or momentum but it looks like (or sounds like) Hit The Lights may be able to over come that minor set back.  Listening to their new single “Stay Out” I can hear faint hints of their past but for the most part the song has convinced me to move on to their slightly newer style.

How does it affect the fans when the lead singer leaves a band? Does it matter to you, the listener?

Seriously?

Posted on June 10th, 2008 by Tyler, under News.

I’m a fan of Building 429 as much as the next guy with their Lifehouse like style but seriously putting out a greatest hits album pretty soon after their 3rd album? Sounds like a money suck to me.

[Note: I do realize that this was label and the band probably had little or no say in the matter.]

Jeff Caylor Album Update

Posted on June 3rd, 2008 by Tyler, under News.

Below is an update from Jeff Caylor regarding the recording of his new album. If you haven’t given him a listen, please do.

Last week, I was fortunate to get some time in Randy Rubsamen’s studio with Jon Collins and Don McCaleb, my good friends and amazing musicians. We cut drums and bass parts for 9 songs that will appear on my next CD. The working title is What Birds Dream. I also recorded vocals for 5 songs on Sunday and will continue to track vocals this coming week. I’m sending at least 3 more songs to the very talented Gavin Harrison who will handle production duties on those tracks. After everything is said and done, I hope to release What Birds Dream in the fall or early winter with 14 or 15 songs.
