1 Liner: Concerning Lions – A Movement Back And Forth

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Brilliance and excellence from head to toe can be felt in the opening moments of the first song “Canon”. The glassy, often jazzy, folk/rock may not be the first thing you notice about the band, but it does provide a pitch perfect foundation for singer Brian Beise to showcase his impressive vocals. Composed more like poetic prose than amateur musings, the lyrics exemplify how beauty extends to every part of these 5 songs. This type of polish is very rarely seen or felt right out of the gate which is what is so exciting about this band.

Who decided on the genre, ‘Shoegaze’ because I’m not down with it. Regardless, please listen to Concerning Lions because they will be the best new band you check out today and possibly in awhile. This band is mostly mellower indie/rock with a jazzier side and killer vocals. My description of the band’s style may take longer than simply saying ‘Shoegaze’ but I’m still not down with it. To sum up, you need to be concerned with Concerning Lions.
