Normally I don’t post all these press releases I get (and there is a lot; sorry PR people). I got one today however, that I found really interesting. The EELS will be releasing a new album called ‘End Times’ on January 10th 2010. Only 6 months after releasing ‘Hombre Lobo’, the band is putting out a brand new studio album, the quickest turn around for the EELS.

The latest band to record songs for the MySpace Transmission sessions is the Eels. You can now stream and download 5 songs as well pre-order the session on vinyl which includes a 6th song, “The Longing”.

Besides having one of the worst stock images being used for the covers of the EP’s, these mostly acoustic sessions are pretty awesome. Featuring some of the better known underground acts, you really are getting more than your money’s worth of content [because they are free].

If you have not listened to the new record ['Hombre Lobo'] from the Eels then you’re missing out. The record is pure indie folk/rock bliss with songs that serve as reflective lullabies contrasted by scratchy and rough americana rock.
