Peasant - Shady Retreat
Aptly titled, this album feels like smoke and mirrors, especially when compared to the band’s last refreshingly solid record. The music turns away from the more rock oriented past to a consistently toned down and uninteresting repetition of what the band has already done before. There are good tracks, of course, but the album feels like it’s just on autopilot.

Listen to Lifehouse
Release Date: 3/2/10
Ulta-mega rock stars Lifehouse have a new record coming out with a new song ["Halfway Gone"] currently up for streaming. Even the skeptics, I would encourage you to listen to the new material; it might surprise you. ‘Smoke & Mirrors’ comes out on December 8th.

Destined for the limelight, Wideawake has such a polished radio rock sound which serves them well. On a sidenote, I can see how some recommendations might be missed because this band was mentioned on The Album Project over a year ago and I don’t remember them. Thanks to Andrew for recommending back in the day.

Song to start with: “Maybe Tonight, Maybe Tomorrow”
This is the same old radio rock that has been around for a long, long time. Nothing on this album is new at all, but even still, it kept my attention for the entire thing and when everything was said and done, I was satisfied with ‘Where It Ends’.

Sometimes it’s amazing how many bands are signed to major labels that you’ve never heard of. 16 Frames plays a rock style that is similar to Lifehouse or one of those feel good radio rock bands.
Here’s a summery of Daily Rec’s from the week.

Check out Lifehouse’s new cd “Who We Are”. It will definitely make my top 10 list for 2007.
