It sickens me a bit that new songs from MUTEMATH [b-side], Anberlin, Owl City and others are appearing on a 90210 soundtrack. The thing which is worse, is that all but 2 songs require the album purchase.

You can now stream the whole Mute Math song “Spotlight”. Please leave your comments and let us know what you think of the song.

There is a 30 second clip of Mute Math’s new song “Spotlight” which will appear on the soundtrack for the movie ‘Twilight’.  The soundtrack version of the song is a “Twilight mix” so who knows exactly how different the album version will be, but it sounds promising nevertheless.

“Mute Math will enter the studio this September to finish work on their upcoming album with producer Dennis Herring.”

Awesome right? Well most people, myself included, don’t know who Dennis Herring is. You may however, be familiar with other bands he has produced including Elvis Costello, Counting Crows, Modest Mouse, Jars Of Clay, The Hives, and Ben Folds.

Anyone else hoping that the song for the first half of this video is on the new record?

MUTE MATH – Behind the Scenes in Japan

I wasn’t going to post the new studio vlog from Mute Math because it’s so short but someone mentioned in the comments and so I will. The newest development from some unknown and secret location is a 30 second musical progression which appears to be part of a new Mute Math song. Personally I think it sounds fantastic, I was however, a bit concerned about the simplicity of it until the end when it breaks down a bit.

You might not be aware that Mute Math has already put out a DVD of their live show. Most people, heck everyone, would tell you that their live show is what makes them so good. Amazon has their DVD for $18 or there are used copied for like $8. Either way, watch the video below and get pumped for a new album.

I’m not sure what number studio vlog this is but here is the latest from the Mute Math recording studio.

There are still some huge releases yet to come out which may disrupt some people’s ‘best of the year’ list.

Listening to Vic Kingsley’s new full length album I was swept up in how good it is. This is the great thing about running a music site where I can recommend these amazing bands that don’t get the exposure they deserve. Definitely give the band a spin if you are into Nada Surf, Travis, Mute Math, Barcelona, Coldplay, My Morning Jacket, As Tall As Lions or any other similar bands.

Prediction: Best album of 2008 (or whatever year it gets released)

It boggles my mind that a band so rich in melodies and over flowing with talent like Northern Room hasn’t been signed yet. Any labels that are reading, this is the band to grab.
