1 Liner: Plushgun – Pins And Panzers

Monday, January 19th, 2009

A major label debut record like this one could slip through the cracks and just never get the traction it should or it could be a great success story. After listening to this record over and over for months now, it would be pretty disappointing to walk into a grocery store or mall and not hear “I walk the line like Johnny Cash…”, or “And this is how we roll, a suburban pioneer…” coming over the speakers. Plushgun has created an album that is deeper than first glance/listen which means that as you hit ‘play’ over and over again the songs don’t get old, they get better.

1 Liner: Plushgun – Self Titled EP

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

Plushgun is one of the first to be able to uniquely recreate what The Postal Service did a few years back both in music and overall experience. “Just Impolite” takes the cake and within 30 secs most have been convinced that there is something here while, “How We Roll” comes in at a close second. Part electronic and part pop/rock, Plushgun hits a sweet spot and rides it out.

Plushgun (Like A Soft Weapon?)

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Maybe it was the quick electronic beat that began “Just Impolite” or the vocals that were a tad higher than normal, in a nice way of course, or maybe it was just the combination of it all. Plushgun did remind me of The Postal Service at first but that quickly wore off as the indie side began to shine through brighter. Plushgun’s new EP drops August 19th, but head to our Muxtape to listen to “Just Impolite” now.
