Everyone knows a band’s sophomore album is their most telling, and so for that reason, ‘Rocks Into Rivers’ is a little bit disappointing. Continually throughout this album it feels as if the thought of mainstream success is what is dictating the choices, rather than the drive described on “Let Me Go On” from ”Til We See The Shore’.

Although ‘Rocks Into Rivers’ seems to be aimed even more at the mainstream that the previous album was, the only real difference between the two albums is more optimistic lyrical content. Definitely in a place they hoped to be, Seabird is proving their depth goes further than hit singles.

The new single “Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful” will be available on Nov. 3rd and then everyone who hasn’t heard the song on the radio or somewhere else can finally hear it and weight in.

The 2nd album from the band comes out December 15th. On the band’s pre-order page there is a special deal to receive the new album along with a limited edition Christmas EP titled ‘The Silent Night’ which will come out Nov. 24th

Seabird, who you hopefully know by now, will be releasing their sophomore album ‘Rocks Into Rivers’ on December 15th. You can now pre-order the new record from the band’s online store.

With a release date of December 15th this record just squeaks in for consideration of best records of the year. The problem then turns to the fact that there is not much time to get acquainted with it.
