1 Liner: fun. – Aim And Ignite

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

‘Aim And Ignite’ is just as much fun as you would expect, laced with instruments and tempos of all sizes. As much as I enjoyed The Format, this new band from the previous lead singer is overall a better experience. While some melodies are definitely comparable to those whimsical ones of Panic At The Disco, fun. still has a more authentic and indie feel which results in a more enjoyable experience and better product.

fun., spelled accordingly, is the new band of Nate previously from The Format. fun. is not only fun, but also lively, hardly a better name to give or describe the band with. The songs are energetic and almost musical like with elements that may remind some of Panic At The Disco. The band’s new album comes out August 25th with 2 new songs available currently for streaming.

Fun is a new band that, just by hearing who is in it, you’ll probsbly already like. The former front man of The Format, along with members of Anathallo and Steel Train make up Fun. The band is set to hit the studio the begining of September. If that is too long for you to wait, the band has a demo up currently.

One For The Team is a recent addition to The Militia Group stable of recording artists (movie reference anyone?) and although some of the songs on their myspace page are a bit rough, you can definitely see the potential this band has.

1 Liner: The Format – B-Sides And Rarities

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

The album really contains all type of styles and songs from the The Format. If you’ve been reading the site you know how I feel about putting “demos” on albums (even rarities ones) so I won’t mention that I’m not a fan of it. Even more than the countless other rarities albums coming out this year The Format’s really is aimed at hardcore fans and anyone else may be unhappy with their purchase.
