Daily Rec: 9/15 [Too Good To Be Forgotten Edition]

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

Remember how I made a post about So Long Forgotten recently? Well they have now released their new album in the form of ‘pay what you want’ or for free when you tell 5 people. This album is too good to go unnoticed. Wrapped in indie rock, passion fills every song with easy comparisons to established bands like Thrice and Thursday who have been known to have both heavier and softer moments. Please leave any feedback you have in the comments.

Full Review: Thusday – Common Existence

4of5 A whirlwind of fury is not unexpected at this point in the band’s career, but still appreciated. After roughly 12 years Thursday has yet to become watered down or irrelevant with ‘Common Existence’ being another cornerstone in a history of solid records.

1 Liner: Thursday – Common Existence

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

I’m not exactly sure what drives Thursday to keep creating these extremly powerful songs which don’t cater to the mainstream but focuses on the same topics and passions that the band always has. If I were going to list all of the band’s records in order of best to worst, ‘Full Collapse’ would be the their best to date but 2nd to that would be ‘Common Existence’. Littered with screams, mellow parts and all the usual parts you’d find on a Thursday record yet ‘Common Existence’ feels completely fresh and new.

Full Review: Thursday – Kill The House Lights

3.jpg“Kill The House Lights” is a very interesting mix of new songs, demos, live songs and b-sides. Whether or not the purpose of the record was to show off the different dimensions and pieces of the band it really does. The styles and different tracks that the album has offer should appeal to all the different fans that the band has.
